Hi, I’m Monica. A physicist and systems researcher by training, I now work on technical AI safety and alignment research. Happiest when working at the edge of my abilities, my North Star is to contribute meaningfully to promoting human flourishing.
My career has spanned science & engineering research (academic & industry/startup), program management, and software engineering in the tech industry. I’ve led research programs & org operations, been involved in tech entrepreneurship, and had a decade-long stint running my own (local, non-tech) brick & mortar businesses alongside my primary technical research career.
On a personal level, I thrive on challenges and am inspired by professionally brilliant colleagues who are also wonderful humans. Over the years, I’ve called Toronto, Ann Arbor, Paris, Vancouver, Amsterdam, and Oxford home. I love the outdoors and am privileged to now have the flexibility to spend most of my time in places with exceptionally stunning nature nearby.
